By reviewer cchen 2007-06-03 23:20:51I am doing my summer planting and wanted to add some soil amendments to the heavy clay soil in my garden, but I didn't want to use any of the chemical fertilizers and amendments after learning about the chemical leeching and so forth. I talked to the local nursery specialist and they recommended EB stone products so I decided to give it a try especially since the price was about the same as conventional soil mix. I added the mix to my soil and layered the top with some compost. So far my flowers and shrubs are doing pretty well so I am happy with the product. Report this review Your take
By reviewer SydneyK 2007-06-06 17:53:42I am a total beginner when it comes to gardening. At the request of my daughters, we decided to plant some flowers and veggies in our backyard. A gardener friend of mine recommended E. B. Stones planting mix - first she said it would help enrich the soil a great deal (I had very barren dirt), and secondly it did not contain a lot of potentially toxic chemicals conventional planting mixes had. That was very important to me, since my kids wanted to "help" me, and I did not want to unnecessarily expose them to harmful chemicals. Fast forward a couple of months, now our annuals are blooming beautifully and we are seeing the beginning of zucchinis and tomatoes. Honestly I never expected to see any flowers or veggies. A very nice surprise indeed! I also liked E. B. Stones because two of my neighborhood nurseries carry a huge variety of the brand. So I did not have to drive 10 miles to get them. Now that I have seen the nice results, perhaps I will try to garden more with the kids. Report this review |
